Beefeater.......Amazing!

Tuesday, 21 April 2015

This weekend we went up to Derby for a surprise retirement party for my uncle. It was great to see everyone and spend time with family that we don't see as often as we would like.

While there, we stayed at the Premier Inn. Now, I love the Premier Inn. They are a great place to stay at. I love the fact that the rooms are great quality, the beds are really comfortable, the staff are always helpful and you get it all for a great price.

Now, we always stay at Premier Inn because we know that Mikey can have a breakfast in the morning. With his food allergies, it's always hard to know what will be available to eat, but we can always find plenty for him there.

This weekend, we got there earlier than expected, so we went to get a drink at the Beefeater next door ( which caters the breakfasts) and were toying with the idea of getting something to eat.

Upon asking about their allergy information, an extremely helpful member of staff, Michael, talked me through each dish, and we settled on a steak, fries and veggie sticks. He also talked me through the kitchen procedure with a meal for an allergy sufferer.
Michael then suggested looking at the cooked breakfast menu, where I then learnt that not only could Mikey have a continental style breakfast, but he could also have bacon and sausages.

It was a brilliant meal, and it was great to see Mikey eating out and us eating out as a family. Usually we don't eat out, or we have to take food for Mikey.

As always, I was on alert, but that's because I'm a helicopter mum! Even I relaxed when I could see how much he was enjoying himself.

And, breakfast was as we expected, fantastic. Mikey ate plenty; fruit, toast, cereal, bacon and sausage. It was great to see him so relaxed and he told me later that it was great not to be the odd one out for a change.

The whole weekend was amazing, spending it with family and truly relaxing for the first time since Mikey was diagnosed as a baby.

I could not fault the Beefeater and I highly recommend them to anyone, allergy sufferer or not.

  2. Wow lovely that they are so helpful! Fin had chronic eczema when he was small, and for years had to avoid dairy and citric acid as much as possible - citric acid I discovered is in everything!!
Luckily his eczema only flares up rarely now, but he still has to avoid anything too citrus fruity! Glad you had a lovely time. Stevie x

  4. That's so lovely to hear - we have the same problem! Not allergies but a list of intolerances and it is quite stressful when you're relying on other people giving you the right information. I'm so pleased it worked out for you and that you all had a well deserved lovely time. 6. Oh Premier Inns are great. I didn't know they cater to allergies. My son has severe allergies so we don't eat out often with him. It's hard. Might have to try staying and eating there sometime on our next trip. Thank you so much for linking up to Share With me. #sharewithme

    1. They are really good with allergy sufferers and I've found that it's easy to find allergy information online when the restaurant offering breakfast isn't a Beefeater.
