Randomise- A Hilarious Family Game!

Thursday, 24 March 2016

In our family, we love playing games!

Ever since I was little, I've always loved playing games, whether it's a board game, charades or even a card game, if someone was playing, I wanted to join in.

It's not just me either. I can remember about 10 years or so ago, where my brother even called in sick at work and the two of  us played a 3 day game of Monopoly! We only stopped to sleep!

I am pleased to say that this love of games has also been passed onto my son and we love nothing more than playing a game whenever we can :)

Recently, we were lucky enough to be chosen to try out a new game called Randomise.

Randomise is a brand new game where you can either act, describe or draw to win! It's got something for everyone and is perfect for getting the whole family laughing!

We decided to try it out when my family got together. 19 1/2 family members (one is on the way!) all crowded in a living room laughing!

To play, you divide into teams and then each player takes it turns to pick a card from each pile, labelled A, B and C.

Card A describes you, Card B tells you what you are and Card C tells you what you are doing.

From there, the player decides whether to act, draw or describe. But, it's not that simple! There are different timings for your choice.

Describing you only get 30 seconds, Acting you get 60 seconds and Drawing you get 90 seconds.

Now when we played, my son chose to act every time, but the downside to that was we all started laughing and it put him off, so the time went before he could finish!

Some didn't choose to act. Both of my brothers chose to draw.
I can honestly say, 90 seconds was not long enough for anyone to guess their cards! They'll kill me for saying this, but they were not that great at doodling, so I'm intrigued to see if you could work them out!

Some of our random identities have been:

  • A fuzzy tortoise playing the saxophone
  • An energetic yeti making a cup of tea
  • A sweaty fairy building a house
  • A curvy gerbil skipping!
There are millions of combinations, so every time we play it's different.

We had such a blast playing this game and cannot recommend it highly enough. It definitely gets everyone who plays laughing. Even my husband who is not a massive fan of playing board games was laughing!

It's also great because it's small, we can take it with us wherever we go.  We just pop into my son's backpack. You can even play it on car journeys, although maybe it's not a good idea to play if driving!

If you want to get your hands on Randomise, head here to buy a copy. Randomise can also be found on Twitter and Facebook.

Answers to my brothers' attempts at drawing:
1.  A strong kangaroo playing football   2. ) A wet soldier ( In fairness to one of them, he ran out of time, so there is only half an answer! We never did find out what the soldier was doing!)

We were sent Randomise in return for our honest opinion. As always, all opinions are our own.

  3. I used to love a game called Junior Dingbats and Monopoly and Cluedo too. My Mum still has all the originals from when she was a kid. I need to get more board games for rainy days like this. Sarah #FabFridayPost

  5. This is so interesting! I can not wait for Ethan to get a little bit bigger so we can start some serious board games. He is really liking snakes and ladders at the moment - so I'm sure Randomise would be idea for him too as he loves to draw, act and describe (as he is such a chatterbox! lol! Thank you so much for linking with us again on #FabFridayPost
