Hot food gone cold.....tastes nice?

Sunday, 15 February 2015

So I've always been a lover of food. Before I had Dot, my favourite food was anything Italian; pizza, lasagna etc. I used to love how hot and tasty it was. Especially the melted cheese on tomato sauce.

However, that's all changed. Now Dot is here, I don't get chance to eat anything hot. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind. In fact, I'm totally okay about it.
It sounds weird, but I have begun to get a taste for food that has cooled down. While my husband and son sit there enjoying their lovingly prepared roast dinner followed by apple crumble, I'm in the armchair feeding Dot.
It doesn't matter what time mealtimes are, it's as if she knows, and so then wants her food too. This is all well and good, but it means that I haven't had a hot meal since I was in the hospital having her.

But, like I said, this doesn't bother me. I am starting to like the food when it is lukewarm. Pasta now doesn't taste the same when it's piping hot!

This has also spread to tea. I absolutely love tea. There is nothing better than a cup of tea to make you feel better. But, I can no longer drink it hot. Even if I'm not feeding Dot, I have to leave it until it has barely any heat left.

Now I've been called weird by my family, although my son always calls me that, so I wondered, do any other mums feel the same about hot food gone cold?!
