Weight Loss- Update

Tuesday, 16 February 2016

It's been a long time since I've updated you on my weight loss journey.  In fact it was October. Oops!
If you haven't read my reasons for losing weight, you can read more here.

so here's what I've been up to in the past 4 months:

I'm still using the Xbox Fitness and the Kinnect. It's great to see my progress since I've started and I love beating my personal bests and other people!

I'm also going to a local trampolining class with my sister in law. Don't be fooled by the name. It's actually an extreme form of it and is really hard work!
We go once a week, but in a fortnight, we're signing up for an unlimited subscription and so will have the option to go to as many sessions as we can handle! (I'm getting a bit scared!)

So in November I found out that I have Coeliac Disease, which has thrown my diet up in the air, and it has only just come back down.

I can't eat a lot of gluten free breads, cakes and biscuits as they have egg or other allergens in, so I'm not happy having them in the house. To be honest, that's not a bad thing!

I'm now eating little and often instead of larger meals, and although I like us to eat as a family, so we wait until Mark is home from work, I try not to eat past half past 7.

I started eating healthy, with more protein and veg in my diet and I'm even eating fruit, which, for those who know me, is a big deal. ( I can't stand it!)

I have succumbed to homemade gluten free macaroni cheese a few times though!

Alongside "My Diet Coach." , I am using an app called My Virtual Mission which lets me add the distance of my exercise to complete a virtual journey.
I am also using my Fitbit.

So here are the numbers for the past two months:

Weigh in:  174lb (12st 6lb)
BMI:   28
Waist: 37 in
Hips: 41 in
Tummy: 40 in
Bust: 41 in

Weigh in:  168lb (12st)
BMI:   27.1
Waist: 35 in
Hips: 40 in
Tummy: 39 in
Bust: 40 in

Total loss target: 60 lb
Weight loss so far: 24lb

I still have a long way to go, but I'm getting there!

  1. Well done, you're making great progress towards your goal!
It's hard work especially with everything you've been dealing with, but I'm sure you'll do it!

  2. You've made some great progress, it's always difficult to get back into a diet after a month away so I'm impressed how well you're doing, especially with the diagnosis of Coeliac's Disease. #BloggerClubUK

  3. Congratulations! You're doing so well. Going gluten free isn't easy, is it - but it's better than the consequences! Whenever I miss pizza, I remind myself of just how poorly it made me and it helps! Plus there's plenty of yummy gluten free foods! #KCACOLS

    1. Thank you :) The only thing I really miss is KFC, but then I remember how ill it made me! It's true, there are some really yummy gluten free foods out there!

  4. Woohoo! You have done so well lovely - you are over 1/3rd of the way to your goal. I think small meals more often is a really healthy way to eat. That's too bad you have coeliac disease, but good that you have found out so you can eat according to what your body needs. Thanks so much for sharing with #bloggerclubuk x

  5. You've done so well! Well done on your loss so far
Thanks for linking up to #justanotherlinky

  6. Sounds like your doing great! Thanks for linking up to #justanotherlinky xx

  7. Well done on your progress so far, I have a fitbit and I love it for helping me keep on track with exercise. I really want to try a trampolining class but they don't have them local to me however I am trying piyo next week hope it's good it took me 4 weeks to actually get into a class #KCACOLS

  8. Oh that is great!! I can see you have gone down in every single part of your body which is the most important thing as that is how your clothes will start fitting better. I really need to do more exercise. I think that is my big problem at moment as I'm not eating a lot but I still stay at home a lot apart from taking and picking up my girls. I'm hoping for the weather to change so then you fancy walking and doing exercise more. You are doing great!! Good luck with it!! Thanks so much for sharing this at #KCACOLS. I would love to see you again on Sunday! :-) x

  9. You have done so well lovely :) I would LOVE a trampolining class, but I don't think they exist in Cornwall! I was sorry to hear about the coeliac, Fin is tested every year for it as it's really common in people with Type 1 Diabetes so I've researched it before and I know it's not always easy to deal with.
Thanks for linking up to #Picknmix lovely, good luck with your health mission xx Stevie

  10. You are doing brilliant may I ask how tall you are? Hope the conversion to coaelic friendly foods is going well. I had to eat wheat free for a month several years ago & really struggled buto now there is much more choice. Happy dieting. #kcacols lifeinthemumslane

  12. Well done - you are doing so well! I really need to get by butt into gear and start eating better and exercising! #KCACOLS

  13. Wow you're doing really well. Keep it up and I hope you find a happy medium :) xx

  14. Well done you - I am a great believer in slowly but surely when it comes to weight loss so it is a change of diet for life rather than a diet to lose weight. #memyselfandI

  15. You've made great progress!! I think losing weight quickly you have more chance of putting it back on but doing it steadily you're more likely to keep it off. I love the sound of the trampoline class!! Thanks for joining in with #memyselfandi

  16. Well done on your weightloss, and I am sorry that you have been diagnosed with coeliac disease :( the trampolining class sounds like fun though. Thanks for linking up to #memyselfandI
